Understanding my obsession with the Sand and Sea Suite!

Hey y'all!  Happy Thursday, I hope you are well, warm, and dry! I am great here at Stamping in Dixie! It is a rather cold day for Alabama, but the sun is shining. My next favorite place to be, besides a cruise ship, is probably the beach! My parents took us to the beach often, my St. Tommy lived 27 years blocks from the bay in PC, Fl. We met at the University of West Fla in P'cola and had many dates at the beach! So, this may help you understand my obsession with the Sand and Sea suite in the J-J 2021 Mini Catalog ( it's on page 40, just in case you are living under a rock). The Bundle (Stamp set and dies), the embossing folder, the Opal rounds, and Pearlescent Specialty paper are all amazing. I know I have already shared a couple of cards, but I have more! I really can't get enough of this suite.

What do you think about this card?  I made this using a technique called Black Ice. I took a piece of silver foil cardstock, streaked it with a Jet Black Stazon ink pad, and then stamped the shell images also with black Stazon. After giving it time to dry, I ran my Versamark pad over the whole surface very lightly and added clear embossing powder to the whole card layer. Next, using the heat gun I embossed the foil layer. After it cooled briefly, I cut this piece out using the large die and the CandE M. Finally, I ran it back through the CandE M with the 3-D embossing folder. It looks amazing!  It is layered on a card base of Basic Black with a 4 x 5.25 layer of Sahara Sand. There is a piece of mesh ribbon wrapped across the front and adhered to the back of the Sahara Sand layer. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Pearlescent paper and punched out with the new Double Oval Punch. It is adhered with Stampin' Dimensional. Finally, I placed some star embellishments around the card to add a little bling! Again, inside says, "Love you to the beach and back," I think this will be one of my favorite cards for a long time.

The second sample, we made in my hostess club this week. The background is Shimmery White sponged with Crumb cake, Pretty Peacock, Just Jade, and Pool Party ink using the new blender brushes. The die layer is Vellum, cut with the large shell die and embossed with the 3-D embossing folder. The vellum was lightly sponged to give the embossed image some definition. The Sandollar and Starfish images were stamped then die cut. There is an 8-inch piece of Just Jade 1/4" ribbon looped behind the sand dollar with a glue dot. Also, a 6-inch piece of gold Trim from the Forever Greenery combo pack in the annual catalog was added to the back of the sand dollar. The starfish were adhered with glue dots onto the card front, and the Sandollar with the ribbon behind it was popped up on dimensionals. Finally, the Happy Birthday was stamped on a 1/2 inch of white cardstock and punched using the lovely layer pick a  punch, then layered on a 3/4 inch piece of  Pretty Peacock. Who wouldn't want to get this card for their birthday? I will add a list of all the products under this post. I hope you are enjoying these cards as much as I am. If you have a question or need some help give me a shout out. I'm here to help with all your paper crafting needs. Have a great weekend. I'll be back next week with more ideas and inspiration! Be Blessed and be a blessing to those around you. Love, Cindy

Month number 2!

The first one done, the month that is. are you ready for #2? It almost seems like we are just counting things these days! How many days, months, years until... how many people can you see, visit, hug? Tommy and I are counting how many cruises we have had planned and canceled. We are waiting for number 6! It's scheduled in May for Alaska. I really want to go. Today I'm counting birthday cards I need to make. I forgot how many events I need to prepare for in February! I have a grandson and daughter with birthdays this month, a  good friend turning 80!!! Also, one of my closest friends birthday is at the end of the month, not to mention Valentine's Day. I know a lot of people don't like Valentine's Day, but I love it. I think of it like Thanksgiving, a day set to be thankful. This is a day set apart to tell the people in your life "I Love You"! I realize this is not the " normal" definition of Valentine's Day, but I'm rarely considered normal!

Here's a sample of a card I made for a tutorial coop I am part of this year. I'm using the stamp set Ridiculously Awesome, which is the inspiration of Ronda Wade for her Millon Dollar achievers Stamp set. Inside it has stamped PS I love you! A perfect card for letting someone special know they are loved and important to you. And easy, this card requires ink, paper, and stamps with a piece of ribbon thrown in because I love ribbon!

I love you to the beach and back!

Good morning!  Hope you are doing well today. I have several cards to share with you today using the  Friends are like Seashells stamp set in the new Jan- July 2021 Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up! The Sand and Sea suite is probably my favorite in this cattie. I really love the suite idea. It gives you so much product to create with that all coordinates perfectly. The  Sand and Sea suite has the stamp set and dies bundle, of course, the Seashells embossing folder, Opal Rounds embellishments, Seaside shells sticker sheets, Pearlescent Specialty paper,  and Sand & Sea Designer Series paper.
This card I demonstrated in my Stamping in Dixie Girls Facebook group recently. It is a really simple card. The Card Stock is Soft Suede, Basic Black, Basic White, and Gold Foil.                                                      Ink:  Sahara Sand and Memento Black

I also used the Cut and emboss machine ie. CandE M, Seashells embossing folder, a sanding block, stamp and seal adhesive, and dimensionals to pop the sand dollar up. Easy Peasy card.

Stamp the inside layer with a sentiment from the stamp set. I love you to the beach and back is my favorite! Adhere this layer. The Gold foil is run through the CandE M with the embossing folder, then very lightly sanded with a sanding block. Attach this layer to the Basic Black layer which is cut 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  The gold fold is 4" x 5 1/4". Stamp the sand dollar on a scrap of Basic White with Sahara Sand ink, Then stamp the For You over it with Memento Black. Add dimensionals to the back and attach to the gold layer.

This next card is stamped on a piece of 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" Basic White with Petal Pink, Old Olive, Highland Heather, and Sahara Sand. Next, the color is added with blending brushes. Our new blending brushes are awesome, especially for adding soft color to a piece of cardstock. Finally, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White along with the seashell and cut it with the layering Ovals dies. It is added to the card front with dimensionals! Can you tell I love dimensionals and ribbon! The little bow knot is tied using a small piece of petal pink ribbon. It is added to the oval layer with a glue dot. and the clear and gold Wonderful Gems from the carryover list are added around the shells. I really like the sentiments in this set. I hope you enjoyed these cards as much as I enjoyed creating them. I'm sure I will be sharing more Sand and Sea creations in the coming weeks. Wouldn't you love to get one of these in the mail?  Time to run. Yall have a great day and remember Friends are like seashells you collect them along the way and You are unique and completely amazing!

Love you to the beach and back!  Be blessed today and bless those around you.
