Easter! It's all about Jesus!

Hi y'all. I'm back with another Easter card to share today. This one was cased from a wonderful Stampin' Up demo France Martin. It is one of my favorite because Easter is all about what Jesus did for you and me on the cross.
Same card with a little different color scheme. I really like the darker one with the Elegant Eggplant cross and frame. I also like the petite petal flowers around the frame in the second card. The cross is made with the lattice Bigz die.
Here's a short picture tutorial on how to cut the cross.

Turn the lattice on an angle. Trim away the four oval petals on each side and the bottom three. I trim away then go back and with my good paper snips trim close following the curve of the ovals. Hope this helps and you enjoy making this card as much as I did.  Be blessed and go bless someone else and then you will be truly blessed.

Spring is in the Air!

Well, that is a true statement, but if you live in our neck of the woods, that can mean anything! One thing for sure, everything is yellow with pollen and the temps are all over the place. Highs in the 80's one day and 60's the next. But right around the corner is the glorious celebration of Easter! I love Easter...it's right up there with Christmas. As a follower of Jesus Christ, Easter is an overwhelming picture of God's love, mercy and grace toward me a sinner. I also love the fun of Easter. CANDY! and colored eggs and Easter egg hunts and PEEPS! As you share this time with your love ones and friends, I hope you will relax, enjoy the new life spring offers, reflect on what is most important and be an encouragement to those around you. Great seg-way, Dixie Bell, (my new Red Hat name)! One way to brighten someone's day is with a hand made, hand written card! Surprise, y'all thought I had forgotten this was a Stamping blog- of sorts anyway! Nope, just wanted to share my heart first. So I have several Easter Cards to share over the next few days. I'll start with the traditional and what is more traditional at Easter than tulips? Well, lilies might be, but we are doing tulips this year!

I love this shabby chic look.
Cardstock is Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla
Ink is Crumb Cake for the distressing and Black Stazon  for the stamp. I colored the tulips with a blender pen and Strawberry Slush is the darker ink and Pink Pirouette is the lighter one. The green is Gumball Green. The oval was cut with the oval framelits and the Big Shot and the embossing was done with the tulip frame embossing folder. The trim is the awesome Strawberry Slush stretch trim and a button with linen thread.
Who wouldn't love to get this card in the mail!

Okay, that about wraps it up for this southern girl. If you have been just a little inspired leave me a note and let me know. Makes my day!!!!
Now go be a blessing to someone else and you will be truly blessed! God love ya!
