Are you ready?

I've been hearing that question a lot lately, Are you ready for Christmas? It is a great question, but probably not what you're thinking. I know I am running around "like a chicken with its head cut off" trying to juggle all the balls in the air. I have done some craft fairs this season which meant some long nights making cute stuff! I went to a Cookie exchange, hostessed a Christmas Open House and still have another Christmas party at my house this week. I have baking to do for Darling's office, Cadiebug's annual cookie bake and Sunday School party.  I could go on but you get the idea. I know I'm not alone in this sinking ship-many of you are right beside me, well probably a little ahead- I tend to procrastinate. The point is, "What are we really doing to get ready for Christmas"? One of our favorite things to do this time of year is watch A Christmas Carol. We watch it on television or I love to go see it at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, but we always watch it. The whole of A Christmas Carol can be summed up, at least for me, in the phrase,

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!” .

So, I am taking some time this week to really get ready for Christmas. To get my heart ready, to bring hope to a dying world, to bolster courage and mediate on truth. I want to celebrate the birth of the King of Kings with hope toward His next arrival and be like the shepherds in the field working and watching for Him!  My hope and prayer is that you too will take time to "Get ready for Christmas" and rejoice in this special time of the year.

One of my favorite cards this season has been this double Z fold using the Winter Wonderland DSP and All Ye Faithful stamp set. Never thought I'd love Christmas in Black and Gold! Hope you like it. Check out the End of year sale on my business page here. The paper is on Sale! Now, have a great day, be a blessing to someone else and you will be greatly blessed!

Love,
Cindy

Thankful 2015- Dedicated to Cheryl Corrigal

Good morning! and Happy Thanksgiving. I really do love this day! I love seeing my family and friends, but mostly setting aside a day to reflect on all the things I am thankful for in my life! God has been so good to me and mine! and while I try to practice being thankful for all His blessings everyday, I love spending today really thinking of all the things I have to be thankful for.  Of the many things I am thankful for is my Stampin' Up! opportunity and the awesome opportunity to meet so many of you amazing ladies. Whether in person or just online I have had the good fortune to meet so many friends I would never have met otherwise. I do love the products, I have made some income, I have been blessed to earn several fabulous trips-but most of all I am thankful for relationships. Cheryl Corrigal is one of those ladies. I met Cheryl about 3 years ago at a workshop. She was an avid crafter, talented doll maker and scrapbooker. She became a regular at one of my hostess clubs, then she joined two. She often brought her daughter and grand daughter along with her. We became good friends. I will for the rest of my life remember her quiet and gentle spirit. Cheryl went to her heavenly home this month. She is greatly missed but her influence will continue to touch all those who were close to her.
Quick note about the card- I love this Six Sayings stamp set. It is one of the hostess sets in the Holiday mini. That catalog will be gone before long. So if you love this stamp set- lets plan a workshop for you or you can collect orders from friends and family and get if for free using your stampin' rewards.
Reminder- Online extravaganza ends Monday with another Flash sale! Check it out.You can order online here.

Again Happy Thanksgiving! Tell those you love how much they mean to you. Be truly thankful for all the blessings in your life- then go be a blessing to someone else.
Love y'all!

What a great holiday!!!! Stampin' Friends Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Stampin' Friends Thanksgiving Blog HOP!  What a great holiday! A day set aside just to be thankful! If you arrived from Kristeen Gill's Blog, thank you for continuing on to mine.

Each month we are excited to have three talented Guest Hoppers that you should definitely check out.
This month they are: Kim Smith , Wynne Grob  and                           Steph Jandro
I have an awesome project to share with y'all! I created this "book box" for  Momma! She will be turning 81 on the 25th of this month. Her birthday falls on  Thanksgiving every few years, she is definitely my role model! We usually have Thanksgiving at her house, but this year Momma and Happy, her husband, are traveling all the way to NEW YORK CITY! They will be gone for Thanksgiving and her birthday. My plan is for all the family to write messages to her while we are gathered together for Thanksgiving and place them in the box. We will give this to her when she gets home. After, of course, we hear all about the Sandy Patti Concert, Wicked and Lion King. What a birthday!
Isn't this the bomb! The box actually opens like a book, it will fit  regular A2 cards and envelopes. The small cards are 3 x 3, and decorated with extra pieces of Woodland Designer Series paper. You can find a list of materials at the end of this post.

And here is my  card I made for Momma's birthday. It's a gate-fold card with a belly band and half a shutter! I know half! I just haven't worked out the kinks to get the shutter to open up enough to see all the picture. So I just added one instead of two shutters. You can see the pumpkins peeking out the window.Open it all the way and the shutter reveals the rest of the picture.

Loved making this one and plan on continuing to work on the measurements so that it really works as a shutter card. Momma's going to flip! She is a avid card maker and I know she'll love this one. well, ladies, that's the whole pumpkin pie!Hope you enjoyed these projects. Please leave a comment and thank you for stopping by.Come again real soon. Now your off to Lisa's blog. Just press next.

Another annual event!

Hey y'all! It's that time of year again-another annual event - my birthday!!!!!! This year was amazing! Tom Terrific and I went to ST. Pete beach for several days of R & R. We did a Sunset sailboat cruise that was fabulous! We not only saw a gorgeous sunset but also watched manatee and dolphins playing in the bay. It was great. We walked on the beautiful beaches of St. Pete and even did a little retail therapy! But the crowning jewel was Stampin' Up! threw me a huge party!
Ok, it was their OnStage event, aka convention, but it was on my birthday!! I felt very honored to spend the day with 350 plus other very talented stampin' divas! We saw new products (get excited) and even made some samples to show you a little later. We heard from home office on the business stuff and some really smart and talented demonstrators shared their ideas with us. I came home with swaps and goodies to boot!  There are some perks to being a demo! Besides all the fun!!
This is Chris, one of my downline, we had a great day together. Next onstage is in April back in Salt Lake City! If you have been thinking about joining up with a great company- let me help you sign up and you can join us for a great adventure in Utah!
Now, hugs and blessings from me.  More importantly please pass it on- go be a blessing to someone else and you will truly be blessed!

Happy Haunting!

Well, our favorite saying this time of year is "The only ghost around here is HOLY!" While I'm not a fan of celebrating all things spooky and evil- I am a fan of this time of year! I love the fall! And along with fall comes the tradition of Halloween. Cadie was a cute dalmatian this year and Cooperman donned an Iron man costume for this years fun activates. I think little Bear is going to be baby Frankenstein? He is way to cute for that!No cute pictures of those yet! But I would like to share with you some precious and super easy treats I made for Cooperman's class this year.
Y'all these were unbelievably the easiest treat I have ever made!
I bought a bag of jumbo pumpkin marshmallows at Target. I melted some chocolate Almond Bark in a ziplock bag. Cut the corner and drizzled the chocolate over the marshmallows, then shook on the sprinkles! That's it! Easy Peasy.
After they dried. I place a pumpkin on top of a graham cracker square and placed them in a small treat bag and tied the end with a piece of bakers's twine. (forgot to take picture of that step) Last, I made 2.5 inch square boxes with the box punch board decorated them and placed the treat inside! I made about 15 but only took this one picture and it's not the cutest one, but you get the idea! I also made some really cute "pumpkin cakes" for my PT team who have been doing amazing wonders on my back and neck! They actually fought over the boxes I made to put them in! That made my day!
I really thought they drool over the cakes! Oh well, I need to get busy,so until next time! Love yall and thanks for stopping by!Till next time be blessed and go bless someone else today!

WOW! What a weekend!

Good morning Sunshine! Love these cool fall days where here in Dixie we wake up to 50 degree temps instead of 70! There is a clean crisp feeling in the air and I love it! Of course it entices me to stay in bed under the covers for a little longer than I have time for.
I had the best weekend ever! Friday Tombo and I drove to Memphis, Tennessee. First time I've been back in 20 years! I actually enjoyed a really amazing reunion with 7 of the best friends a 8 year old every had!I arrived home to receive the most beautiful card in the mail! Don't you love o get mail that's not a bill and advertisement! And it was from Australia!!!! It was a "RAK" card from another crafter that is in a Facebook group where I am also a member.
Isn't this a beautiful card. I just love it. It came from Debra Barlow of Tennant Creek in Australia. I even saved the stamp! On top of that my October Paper Pumpkin also arrived in the mail! A bright pink box to honor and bring awareness to Breast cancer. Stampin' Up donated a dollar for each monthly subscriber and another one for any new subscriptions. "WE" were able to make a nice donation. I say we because it takes all of us working together- my 10-15 dollars might not help much alone... but add them to all the others and now we can do something. so thank you to all of you who have signed up for Paper Pumpkin! We can make a difference together.

I'm so excited!!!!!

October's Stampin Friends Blog Hop!

Lisa

It's all about Halloween!

Welcome to the October Halloween Stampin Friends Blog Hop. I am so excited to be a guest with Maria Willis on this hop! Please check out all these talented stampers.
As I am new to doing Blog Hops it has been a learning experience for me! If you arrived from Lisa's blog thank you for continuing on our Halloween Hop! If you just started, please continue on to see some great projects from some really talented stampers.

I have a somewhat clean and simple card to share today. It is a style I like but am not always good at. The card is a single layer card! I almost never do this, but I really like it. If you haven't tried the thick White Cardstock- it is awesome! I added the cut Spider web dollies and the Black Glimmer paper behind the Happy Haunting saying.

My other project is this candy cover box. I actually designed this box for this coffee candy I found at a local outlet store. The box is made using two pieces of Designer Series Paper. The Black Glimmer Paper forms a belly band around where the two pieces meet. Very simple, but I love it! And the best thing is I used scraps of DSP to make it. Don't want to waste 1 inch of that stuff! Here's a close up of this one. Love the "Faboolaus" saying!
Now, my favorite stamp set is ....uhhhh....mmmmmm....this is hard, I guess right now, current catalog it's Happy Scenes. Why is this important? Well, if you visit each blog on this Hop, collect all the bloggers favorite stamp sets and email them to  happystamper508@gmail.com by midnight Sunday, you will be eligible to win a 25.00 gift certificate!!!!

Woo Hoo! So,join in the Halloween Hop and keep on hopping. Now, your off to visit Siara Acdal's  blog. Thanks again for stopping by Stamping in Dixie. Would love to hear your comments.
