I love you to the beach and back!

Good morning!  Hope you are doing well today. I have several cards to share with you today using the  Friends are like Seashells stamp set in the new Jan- July 2021 Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up! The Sand and Sea suite is probably my favorite in this cattie. I really love the suite idea. It gives you so much product to create with that all coordinates perfectly. The  Sand and Sea suite has the stamp set and dies bundle, of course, the Seashells embossing folder, Opal Rounds embellishments, Seaside shells sticker sheets, Pearlescent Specialty paper,  and Sand & Sea Designer Series paper.
This card I demonstrated in my Stamping in Dixie Girls Facebook group recently. It is a really simple card. The Card Stock is Soft Suede, Basic Black, Basic White, and Gold Foil.                                                      Ink:  Sahara Sand and Memento Black

I also used the Cut and emboss machine ie. CandE M, Seashells embossing folder, a sanding block, stamp and seal adhesive, and dimensionals to pop the sand dollar up. Easy Peasy card.

Stamp the inside layer with a sentiment from the stamp set. I love you to the beach and back is my favorite! Adhere this layer. The Gold foil is run through the CandE M with the embossing folder, then very lightly sanded with a sanding block. Attach this layer to the Basic Black layer which is cut 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  The gold fold is 4" x 5 1/4". Stamp the sand dollar on a scrap of Basic White with Sahara Sand ink, Then stamp the For You over it with Memento Black. Add dimensionals to the back and attach to the gold layer.

This next card is stamped on a piece of 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" Basic White with Petal Pink, Old Olive, Highland Heather, and Sahara Sand. Next, the color is added with blending brushes. Our new blending brushes are awesome, especially for adding soft color to a piece of cardstock. Finally, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White along with the seashell and cut it with the layering Ovals dies. It is added to the card front with dimensionals! Can you tell I love dimensionals and ribbon! The little bow knot is tied using a small piece of petal pink ribbon. It is added to the oval layer with a glue dot. and the clear and gold Wonderful Gems from the carryover list are added around the shells. I really like the sentiments in this set. I hope you enjoyed these cards as much as I enjoyed creating them. I'm sure I will be sharing more Sand and Sea creations in the coming weeks. Wouldn't you love to get one of these in the mail?  Time to run. Yall have a great day and remember Friends are like seashells you collect them along the way and You are unique and completely amazing!

Love you to the beach and back!  Be blessed today and bless those around you.

Favorite Flowers

Do you have favorite flowers? I can never pick just one, but at the top of the list is definitely Daisies and Hydrangea.  These are probably my favorite because my mother loved daisies, we had daisy dishes, pictures of daisies, daisies growing in the garden. On the other hand, my grandmother was one of my favorite people in the whole world. She always had big beautiful blue Hydrangea growing outside her backdoor and mint. I love the smell of mint!  So, I was over the moon when I saw the Hydrangea Hill Suite in the January -June 2021 mini catalog. It is awesome. the Designer Series paper is fabulous. The colors are spot on! Of course, the blue are my favorite but, I like the pink and purple ones also.

This card really shows off the paper I think. The 4 x 5.25" layer is just Designer Series paper.  Can you see the little butterflies over the mop heads? I stamped those with a small background stamp from the Dragonfly Graden stamp set in Seaside Spray. The card base is Misty Moonlight. Isn't the Gorgeous Grape ribbon truly gorgeous? It is a wonderful soft ribbon for tying bows. I stamped the sentiment in Highland Heather, punched it out with the new dual oval punch, and layered it on an oval of Gorgeous Grape. This is popped up on dimensionals. I also added the sweetest little pastel pearls, they also come in this suite.

I love getting fancy mail! So I always try to decorate my envelopes. This time I added a 2.5" x 6" piece of another sheet of this DSP to the outside flap of the envelope, adhered it, and trimmed around the flap. Easy Peasy, but such a pop! I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. Thanks for stopping by.

What's new in 2021?

January is one of those months you got to love! New Year, new goals, great plans, all these things make January very energizing for me. Here in Alabama if we are going to get some sweater weather it's usually in January. It's also kind of a layered back month in the yearly scheme of things. In the past, January was my reading month. I would read everything I wanted to during January. Christmas was over, it was too cold outside to do much, nothing big happening. Of course, there is always a new diet plan for January!😇 Since falling in love with stamping and joining the Stampin' Up! family, January has gotten busier for me. What happens in January you ask?  The January to July Mini Catalog is launched. There are great deals to be had and a ton of new and fun stampin' opportunities. Do you have your copy yet? While you can see it online here, there is nothing like a copy in hand for me. So please contact me with text, email, or smoke signals if you still need one and I'll get it to you a soon as possible.  Start making that wish list today.

Have a great week. See ya again soon! Be Blessed and bless those around you!

I need cards for men! ie. NO FLOWERS!

Good afternoon. y'all. Hope everyone is doing well. I had hoped to have this out earlier this morning, but life took over. I am trying to help grandkids with virtual school and keep the stamping thing going at the same time. Time is a crunch at the moment. I recently did a card for one of my hostess clubs using this set and I love it! It was a fun fold and fun to make! I hope you like it also. I think manly cards are a little more difficult to come up with sometimes. The new suite Well Suited is perfect for the men in your life!

For this card, you will need:
Handsomely Suited (154444)
Suit and Tie Dies (154322)
Well Suited Designer Series Paper (154562)
Basic Gray Cardstock (121044)
Basic White Cardstock (159276)
Magneta Madness Inkpad (153117)
Light Smokey Slate Blends (154904)

Card Measurements
Cardbase is 4.25" x 5.5"
Basic Gray flap is 2.75" x 10.5" scored at 5.25"
DSP is 4 x 5.25"; 2.5" x 5.25"
(2) pieces Basic White 2.5" x 5.25"
scraps for die cut tie and collar
Dimensionals for collar.
Center the back of the flap piece on the cardbase and glue down with a .25" border at the top and bottom. Place the DSP covering the flap and cardbase.
Stamp the saying on the inside in Basic Gray ink. Adhere making sure it is centered behind the front flap.
Cut the v shape from the dies set in the smaller piece of DSP. Attach this piece to the front Basic white layer, then adhere to front flap .25" from the top, even with your bottom layer of DSP.
Cut collar fron Basic white scrape. Stamp tie in Magenta Madness and lightly brush with the Light Smokey Slate Blend.  Cut with the tie die.
Attach the collar with dimenionals and adhere the tie with adhesive to the middle of the front flap to look like a shirt with tie. Done! Isn't this card cute and it could be used for so many different occasions. With 3 brothers in law, 3 grandsons, a son and son in law, I think this set is a keeper for me. I'm thinking of all kinds of other ideas for this set. If you liked this post, please leave a comment and let me know you were here. Thanks, have a great day and I'll be back on Friday with more inspiration. Be blessed,

Surprise! Happy New Year!!!

Hello again!  Happy New Year from the whole family! It's been over a year since I decided to let the blog go for a while. But I have missed it. I know many of you follow me on other social media sites and that is really easier, but I believe I can provide more information for you here at Stamping In Dixie. So look forward to more posts, tutorials, card samples, and announcements. Thank you for following along on this creative journey. I hope to offer encouragement and inspiration along with stampin' and crafting community! I am praying for 2021 to be a great year.

My word for this year is INTENTIONAL. The definition is "done on purpose or deliberate". I want to be very intentional about my relationships, my health choices, my time, and my finances. What do you want for yourself in 2021?  At life level 62, I know more than ever if I do not make plans, I accomplish very little and waste a lot of the precious time God has given me. Thank you for following along and I hope you will join me on this journey for 2021! Let's make it a great year! Have a great day, be blessed, and be a blessing to those around you, then you will be truly blessed!
