Happy Birthday Momma!

Jennifer and GG
Happy Thanksgiving a few days late! Thanksgiving day was also my momma, Billie Slack Richmond's, 82 birthday. We had our traditional southern Thanksgiving meal with most all the family. Elizabeth, our youngest daughter, was unable to come from North Carolina. Tombo fried a turkey, we had mash potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cornbread dressing, shrimp and grits dressing, Watergate salad, broccoli casserole and cranberry sauce. And of course, Sweet tea!  Momma made pecan pies and our daughter Jennifer made a gluten free pecan pie cheesecake! Oh my!!! Is all I can say about that! It was a great day and actually ended with some late shopping-crazy people!
I wanted to share with y'all the birthday card I made for my Momma. I love the double Z fold card and the Petals and Paisleys Designer series paper. Love the copper accents in this paper.

I had a really hard time with the lighting on this picture because of the copper. The small leaves are out of the October paper pumpkin kit, sponged with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry. I used the Stitched framelit oval for the Happy Birthday layer and the large numbers framelit for the 82.
Hope you like this card. IF I can help you find your creative mojo or if you need any Stampin Up supplies just leave me a comment of you can visit my online store here. Thanks for stopping by. Come back and visit again soon. Be blessed and go bless those around you and you will be truly blessed.

Happy, Happy, Happy Holidays Stampin Friends Blog Hop

Hey Y'all and welcome to the November Happy Holiday's Blog Hop brought to you by Stampin Friends! If you came from Melissa's blog thanks for continuing on the hop. You can also click on the next button to keep on hopping! We have all been working on Holiday stuff for a while. While personally I am still in Thanksgiving mode, I have been working on Christmas stuff for my classes for a while. The holiday's are probably one of my favorite times to stamp! I love to make candy treat wrappers and small gift-ables for just about everyone! And of course, the every important Christmas card is a big deal for me. This month I'd like to share with you two decorated bottles! One is a Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha drink and the other is an empty bottle almost the same shape I found at Target for 2/$3.00. This screamed Candy Cane Lane DSP to me and the stamp set, plus the Cookie Cutter stamp set! LOVE them both! I made a bottle tag with as open-sided box to hold a cookie to go along with the Mocha. The empty bottle is filled with peppermints, wrapped with a piece of Designer Series Paper around it and washi tape added
with a tag! Done. Great small gift to tuck into teachers' baskets or for co-workers. The card I made uses a card sketch I ran across last month. I used this same sketch for some of my swaps at Onstage. I really like the simplicity of this sketch but you can do so many  variations. This card uses the Christmas Pines Bundle. Another set I have fallin' in love with this season. the DSP on this card is from the This Christmas package that is actually in the Annual Catalog! I used the Copper foil to cut out the pine cones.
One of my most favorite things about Stampin' Up is the coordination of products! The DSP, Stamp sets, framelits and embellishments that all go together make projects so much easier and more fun to finish! Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment before Sunday the 20th. We will be doing another mystery give away and each comment gives you another chance to win some pretty cool stuff. Be Blessed and have a great day- Go out a be a blessing and you'll have a great life.

Birthday Swap

Good day Stampers and Crafters,
It's a beautiful day in Dixie! Finally, some cool mornings. Mind you the kiddos left for school still in shorts this morning, but it wasn't 80 something at 8:00! I want to share with you a card I received in the mail this week. It's from a fellow stamper; we are both members of a Facebook group Stampin Friends. I signed up to be part of a birthday swap group. Each month we send a birthday card to another member of the group who has a birthday that month. THIS is my month! I will send my card, but I will receive a bunch of cards! I am super excited. Joyce Hunt's was the first Stampin Friends card I received. She used the Festive Birthday stamp set and Framelits. Isn't this the cutest llama?
Well, this is a great start to my birthday month. I am watching very day for the postman to deliver the mail! Thanks for stopping by today  I hope you have a great stamping day. Be Blessed and be a blessing to someone else today!

What a night!

Well stampers, I have no idea where you stand on the election and all that is happening in our country, regardless I respect you and your opinion even if it differs from mine. So, lets celebrate today! Just for today. Another 24 hours to make a difference in some one's life big or small. Be the smile your neighbor needs or the pat on the back a coworker needs today. Our elected Officials are important in our country, but it us, the people of this great nation, that will make or break our futures. I share Stampin' Up because I love what I do and in sharing it I hope I make a creative difference in your life! Thanks for letting me do that here and in person.
I showed a sneak peak of this card yesterday.
I really love this card sketch It starts with a half sheet of cardstock, scored in half. The first layer is 4 x 5 1/4. This layer is embossed with the festive embossing folder.
The DSP layer is 2 1/4 x 4 3/4 layered on the emerald Envy cardstock that is 2 1/2 x 5. The square layer is emerald envy 2 3/4 square and the Whisper White piece is 2 1/2 square. I used the Festive Birthday Designer series paper on this card. The Whisper White square is stamped with Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise ink. The Celebrate your day stamp is from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set as is the confetti stamped in the corners. The piece is attached with dimensionals. I also added the Melon Mambo Thick Bakers Twine to the DSP layer. It's wrapped a couple times and tied in a bow.  I hope you enjoy this card sketch as much as I do. I'll be showing some more cards made with it soon. It is so versatile and easy to put together it makes for a great choice when you're in a hurry and need a card quick. Well, Celebrate today! Celebrate you, celebrate your freedom to live in this country and to vote on it's leaders. God bless you, but go be a blessing to someone else today-then you will receive the truest blessing!

Fun at Onstage!

Good morning stampers,
I just returned from Atlanta ,Ga were I was lucky to attend Stampin' Up's Onstage event! It was a fun day of learning, stamping, swapping and meeting new friends and seeing those you haven't seen in a while. Prize patrol was there! Woo Hoo! These events are just one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up demonstrator. We were privileged to see the new Occasions catalog and even get your hands on a few!!!!(along with a challenge to hand out 5 catalogs each month to new customers!) I love being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! I am about to celebrate my 10th anniversary! If you are looking for a fun work for yourself job, think about joining my awesome Dixie Star Stampers team.
I made 2 swaps this year, both birthday because everyone has a birthday to celebrate. The Real Red and Island Indigo card is a standard 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 sheet of cardstock scored at 4 1/4 . The Real Red layer is 4 x 5 1/4 embossed with the Lucky Stars embossing folder. The Whisper White piece is 2 1/4 by 4 1/2. The balloon is stamped with Real Red and then masked and the stars stamped around it in Island Indigo. The Happy Birthday is stamped in Whisper White that is 5/8" wide and about
2" long and bannered on both ends. The silver bakers twine is tied around the Real Red layer before it is adhered to the card base, Oh, and I stamped the outline stars on the Happy Birthday banner in Real Red. This card is headed to a Stampin' Friend for her birthday. This  second card uses one of my favorite card stretches.
Stop back by tomorrow for more info on this card and the measurements.  Now, be blessed and go bless someone else.

Christmas is coming! WAIT!

Isn't is amazing how we know Christmas arrives on the same day every year and yet it seems to creep up on us at the last minute. Now I know it's Nov. 1st, but yesterday it was Oct. 1st! So it's time to get crackin'- no more putting off projects that need done or shopping or cleaning or baking...HALT! It's November! I want to enjoy this month. I want to prepare for Thanksgiving that little holiday between Halloween and Christmas that most often gets overlooked! I'm ready to cook that Halloween pumpkin into delicious pies, fry that turkey and give God thanks for my family around me, another year of health and all His many blessings.
Last week during the Stampin Friends Blog hop I showed y'all a cute little treat bag I was making or my Thanksgiving table. Today I want to give you a few more details.
supplies Kraft bags, DSP, Ribbon Gold clips,
scraps of cardstock in Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Crazy and Crushed Curry.

Take the Kraft bag(138315) and score it 1inch on each side and inch from the bottom.
Open the bag and work those score lines to form a bag with a flat bottom. You should end up with a small triangle piece on each side that you can just fold under and adhere to the bottom. I really made this out of left over pieces on my table. The DSP is from  Petals and Paisleys paper pack(142017), this strip was left over from cutting for the cards. It's about 2 inches wide or less. I just held one end to the front after folding the bag over and wrapped the piece around to the back. If there was left over I simply folded it forward. No adhesive was used. The tag was stamped on whisper white with Early Espresso ink and is held in place with the gold clip
(141673). Tie ribbon bow around clip(142021). Now the cute part- the turkey! I punched the body with the owl builder punch (118074) and trimmed off the feathers on top. Added the circles from the punch for the eyes in Whisper White and Early Espresso. The peak is a little piece from cutting out the dies for the tail feathers. Tail feathers! These were made cutting out several colors with the leaf-like die out of the Paisleys framelit dies(141849). Really easy and fun to make. I hope this motivates you to make some and enjoy sharing with your family, friends, co-workers, and maybe someone who just needs a bit of blessing in their lives.
Please take this month to be truly thankful for all the many blessings in your life. While each of us have trials to walk through- we can always find something to be thankful for each day.
If you need any of these supplies you can purchase them at my online store:
here. Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon!
