Happy World Card Making Day!!!!!

Yes! there really is such a thing! October 1st is World card making day! I love it, of course, a whole day devoted to making cards and this year is really special because I get to meet with my oldest running hostess club "Stampin' Sisters". Most of these ladies have been with me for a very long time.
My first club started in Feb. of 2009. My dear friend Debbie Whitman and my momma, Bille Richmond were in that group. Linda Cooper joined us in April of 2010. These 3 ladies have been with me for 8-9 years. Stephanie  Roberti is our hostess for our World Card making day workshop. she placed her first order 2 Old Olive markers in December 2010 and joined the club in January 2011. We have had some awesome, talented and creative ladies join us for a season here and there, but the main part of this group has been together for a long time. We have all build amazing friendships and enjoy getting together once a month and catching up while we create beautiful cards. We have experienced weddings, babies, big birthdays, sadly a divorce, and military deployments. I am so honored and thankful to have each of these ladies in my life. Truly, it was one of the biggest reasons I started this adventure. I wanted to make some new friends who would enjoy sharing this creative hobby together. Mission Accomplished! God bless and have a great day.

Are we really getting ready for Fall? Stampin' Friends Blog Hop

Where, Oh where did my summer go? School has started, but it's still summer people! And now we are gearing up for everything pumpkin spice! Before you know it we will be heading into the Holiday Season! Halloween, Thanksgiving Christmas, and New Year's celebrations will be here before you can say Jack O'lantern! This is really a good exercise for me because I tend to procrastinate and am always scrambling at the last minute. This year I will have Halloween done early! Well, at least planned early. So thank you for joining us on the Stampin' Friends Fall Blog Hop today. As always I know you will be inspired by the projects you see from this group of talented stampers. I hope you enjoy mine and keep on hopping! Please leave your comments along the way. It really makes us do the happy dance!
My granddaughter Cadie picked out this stamp set. She is an old cat woman at 11! She loved the Kitty and Dog in this fun Halloween stamp set. I used Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, and Whisper White cardstock. Add in a piece of the DSP and that awesome Black Foil.
 From the new Holiday Catalog-
Stamp set Treat or Tweet,
DSP Toil and Trouble,
Black Foil Sheets, Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy ribbon, Swirls and Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
I used the new Granny Apple Green Blends pen in light, and the Smoky Slate Blends pens in dark and light.

For my 3-d projects, I did a quick candy bag using the 3 x 6 gusseted cello bags, tied with the 1/8" Black Cord and a 1 1/2" circle punch.

Love some candy corn! the bat and frog where cut from the Toil and Trouble DSP (Hint there is a matching stamp set and framelits!).
Cute, but want to take it up a notch or two?
I used a 6" x 11" piece of DSP and the Gift Bag punch board to make a cute little treat bag. Then created an adorable tag to tie on it using Mango Melody Cardstock, Toil and Trouble DSP, more Glittered Ribbon.  Isn't the little witch just the cutest thing. I loved her holding the frog over the cauldron. And in honor of Cadiebug there had to be a cat at her feet.
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into the New Holiday Catalog coming soon. There are more Fall goodies for you to play with going soon! Please continue on to Katja Ettig's blog to see what amazing things she has created. Have a great day and be blessed and be a blessing to those around you!

Summertime, Summertime! Stampin' Friends Blog hop

Thanks for joining us today on the Stampin' friends Blog hop. I know you are enjoying all the great projects from this talented group of stampers and crafters. I have been traveling a lot already this summer with 2 weeks in the UK and a few days in Panama City, FL, where I attended my niece's wedding. It was lovely.
The fun stamping stuff I've been working on, besides wedding favors for Lauren's wedding, are projects using the new In Colors. It usually takes we a little while to warm up to the new colors each year. I really do like the brightness of this year's In Color collection. Have you picked a favorite yet? I love the Lovely Lipstick and Blueberry Bushel, but the Pineapple Punch is pretty awesome also. I used the In Color DSP as the focal point for these simple notecards. And love that coordinating ribbon! The Lovely Lipstick card shows both sides of the DSP.
I also used the DSP to make these sweet candy treats to hand it to my customers picking up their catalogs. I squatty triangle is a sour cream container using DSP that is 3 x 6. It holds 3 kisses. The small candy bars I brought home from Scotland! They are gold!!! I simply cut the length of the bar and wrapped and adhere in the back. I added the ribbon because I LOVE RIBBON! and also it will help hold the candy in place.  Here's a close up of the sour cream container.
I hope you enjoyed these projects and please continuing hopping. I know you will love all the great ideas you see. Have a great day and be blessed!

Share what you LOVE!

I love this part of Stampin' Up's Statement of the heart, Share what you Love! I love stamping. It is such a joy to me and I love sharing with you, my friends and stampin' family. This month Stampin' Up is offering the Share what you love bundle, one of the stamp sets is our statement of the heart. I was sitting in church this weekend while our grand kids were singing in the kids' choir program and the thought hit me- these teachers, musicians, drama coaches are sharing what they love! Jesus and the creativity of music and drama. I always try to make a little something for their music teachers and this thought hit me. I was so excited I came home and stayed up til midnight creating the picture little gift for each teacher. The name of their musical was "Oh Chicken of Little Faith", and it was just precious! I immediately thought of our now retired Hey Chick set. I married it with the statement of the heart and done! You have a cute framed memento of tonight's performance.
Isn't this perfect?    There was even a little cracked egg in the program!   I stamped the chicken on a piece of the cards from sale a bration to get the small-scale background, added the chicken and the statement of the heart. It was really very simple. but I love it.
If you are thinking of all the people you could use this verse for, you might want to hop on over to my online store and start shopping.   Better run. Have an awesome day.

Come join the parties!

Weekend fun! We are celebrating several birthdays and other events coming up as Tombo and I will be headed to the UK soon. Phew! But sometimes you need more than a card. We are not only celebrating birthdays, we have the end of the school year parties and celebrations like graduations and of course a couple weddings thrown in there also! I find myself looking for quick projects to add that special touch to these events. I recently did a whole birthday themed workshop where we made a card, treat holder and gift bag. I shared the card Thursday, today I want to share the treat holder and bag. While we did these for with a birthday theme- I'm thinking of redoing with a different Designer Series paper for Mother's day luncheon and teacher appreciation week at my grandkids schools. I'm a believer in the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Sister.
This card is a make and take we did last year before the 2017-2018 annual catalog  debuted with the cute Birthday Memories DSP! I love the nostalgic feeling of this paper. I used a different piece to wrap around the candy holder. I saw a wrapper like this on Pinterest and just tried to figure it out. The base is 2 x 11, scored at 1 1/4, 3 3/4, and 4 1/4. I punched both ends with the scalloped tag punch, turned the smallest scored piece forward and the other turn score lines away from me. The band is 2 x 6 scored at 1 1/2, 2, 4, 4 1/2,. I wrapped it around the base and adhered on the back with Snail adhesive. The circles on the front are punched with the 1 1/2 and 1 3/8 circle punches. I stamped the saying from
More than Chocolate (143689) and a small piece of candy in Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip. The nuggets are covered with 1 x 3 strips of paper an placed in a 2" x 8" cello bag.(141703).  This bag is tired with the 1/4" Stitched-Edge Ribbon( 144199) in Pacific PointI love the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishment (144124) for just a little extra. I recreated the same treat wrapper with the Cake Soiree DSP and Berry Burst cardstock. On this one, I used the 3/8" Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon (144151) and the cute little bow from the Mini Gift Bows pack (144127). This one looks like a great shower table favor or something for a Mother's day tea, very elegant. The Whisper White piece in the back can be stamped with a message or can be a place to write or sign your name. I just love making these. So cute and easy!
I hope you have enjoyed this project and will keep coming back for more. If you don't follow me on this blog, please click the follow button on the left of the screen. then you will be notified when I post. Again, thanks for coming by and hanging out for a bit. I hope you are well and a feeling the blessings of God. Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week. Come on back for a visit anytime.

Birthdays just keep coming!

Good morning stamper friends! It's a beautiful day and I'm trying to multi-task! This might be fun or funny! I have a ton of stuff to get done before we head off to cruise the British Isles. Trying to get all the birthday cards made for the month. I wanted to share a card I made for my hostess clubs recently. I'm sad to say the stamp set I used Mixed Drinks (141928) is retiring at the end of this catalog as are the number framelits (140622)!!!! NO! I love my number framelits! Okay, if you don't have the numbers dies-get them! They are so useful.
Love this card and the Eclipse technique. I stamped the beer mug randomly on the Whisper White paper, then stamped the inside with crushed curry. The darker ones I just stamped a couple times with the inside image. I used the Happy Birthday framelit (143700) but just cut it apart. Using the  Large Number framelits I cut the number out of the middle of the stamped layer. Then pop those numbers up on the adhesive strips. Don't forget to put your center pieces back in but not on a dimensional. The TH banner is embossed with white embossing powder. Really not a difficult card but has a lot of WOW! This stamp set is very versatile and has different glasses and accessories like straws and ice cubes so you could create many different drinks. Root beer floats maybe, lemonade or ice tea.
Hope you enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed making it and sharing it.  So off to the post office this morning to mail some cards. Hope you have a great day and feel the blessings from above. Be Blessed and be a blessing to those around you, then you will be truly blessed.

Happy May Day! A little history lesson today.

The Celts of the British Isles believed May 1 to be the most important day of the year when the festival of Beltane was held. When the Romans took over the British Isles, they brought with them their five-day celebration known as Floralia, devoted to the worship of the goddess of flowers, Flora. Taking place between April 20 and May 2. Through the centuries these celebrations have changed and taken on new meanings. Some cultures had Maypole dances. I remember learning about this in elementary school and we made cones of paper and filled them with flowers, we tied crepe paper to a flagpole and learned to dance around the pole weaving in and out with our streamers in hand. May Basket Day was celebrated across the country in the early 19th and 20th centuries where baskets were created with flowers, candies, and other treats and hung on the doors of friends, neighbors and loved ones on May 1.
What a fun activity to just celebrate spring and friends and neighbors I think this fits really well with Stamping Up's Statement of the heart.
Isn't this cute. I made my own old-fashion May Day cone with an 8 x 8 inch of DSP. I adhered paper doilies to the edge, filled it with Reddie Shreddie and created daisies the daisy punch. I used the adhesive-backed sequins that are sadly retiring for my centers. I punched some leaves with the leaf punch and glued to the back of the flower. Made a little tag and done! Oh yeah, you have to have a bow! You know I love my ribbon! This is headed to a friends house shortly!
Here is a close up of the flowers. I used a sponge dauber to add a little color to the edges and a bone folder to curl them a bit. I'm thankful this punch and stamp set is not retiring!

The last picture is a close-up of the tag. I love this saying out of the Picnic with You set. It was perfect for this project.

I hope you enjoyed our little history lesson and my May Day projects. Have a great first of May, be blessed and be a blessing to those around you. There is a lot of new things coming! Stay tuned to Stamping in Dixie for updates and specials. If you don't have a demonstrator and need a new 2018-2019 annual catalog let me know, I'll get one to you. You can visit my online store anytime to purchase Stampin' Up products you see here.

Good morning crafting peeps! I hope you are having a good start to your week. I am running around today as usual but wanted to take a minute and make sure you know about the current promotions going on with Stampin' Up! There is three kind of big things going on right now or soon. first would be the Last Chance List! I'm sure you have all perused it by now. It seems longer than it needs to be because it lists all the ink pads as retiring. Don't panic, they are not retiring just being redesigned! Also, many of the bundles that seem to be retiring will be in the annual catalog, but not in a bundle form. You can check out what's available here.
Don't miss out on something you really want, retiring items are while supplies last. Layering Love is one of my favorite words set. I will miss it.
So what else is going on? Well I'm sure you have heard all the buzz about the Color Revamp! Stampin Up does this occasionally to stay on trend with core colors that are current. It's been like 8 years ago since we had a major Color Revamp! Some of the new ones are pretty awesome and they are bringing back some retired In Colors to fill in gaps. Blackberry Bliss was one of my favorite purples and it's coming back!!! Woo HOO! Here is a list of the retiring colors, the new colors and the returning colors.
And finally, I'll talk more about this later this week but we have an exclusive early release bundle coming out in May. Actually 3 different bundles of the same product. It's a beautiful stamp set, no 2 stamp sets that coordinate along with some other products to get you started creating beautiful projects.

This Early release will be available Starting May 1. Check back for more information and some samples of cards and projects made with this suite.
That's a  lot for one blog post. Thanks for visiting my site. I always enjoy your comments, please leave one and let me know you were here. Have a great day. Be blessed and be a blessing.

Stampin Friends It's all about Spring Blog Hop!

Welcome to the April Stampin' Friends Blog Hop. Hope you are enjoying hopping along with us seeing all the spring ideas we have to share with you today. I have to say it doesn't feel very spring-like in Dixieland this week. It's cold! Well, cold for us. I'm wearing a sweater today! In April! But it will be 80 degrees again tomorrow. Go figure!
I know some of you are thinking spring flowers, weddings, maybe flying kits. In Dixieland it's all about college letters, the which athlete is signing for YOUR school, graduations, and reunions. Yes, throw a few weddings and showers in the mix and it's a busy time of the year. I was asked by a sweet friend to make her some special cards for her college reunion next weekend, luckily Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach are still around. They are prettier than just Blue and Orange!I love these cards! Awesome fun folds I learned from Donna Griffith and France Martin.

The top piece is a 3 1/2 inch square card attached to the right 1 1/2 " panel. Then it opens again to reveal the inside. I love this girl! The "Remember when" stamp is from an old set, but was perfect for this event.
On the inside, I used the tree stamp and banner from a retiring set In the Trees (145850). I was a little sad to see this one go so soon.
I didn't have anything with Old on it. We wanted these cards to honor years of friendship, so I took the Hold on to hope stamp and just inked up the OLD! It worked perfectly. The rest of that saying is from the Waterfront stamp set. Watercolored the trees and sky with an aqua painter.

The 4-panel card is very similar using most of the same stamps, but adding a few current, retiring and retired ones! can you see the little girl from Birthday Delivery? I just love this stamp. Very sad to see it leave!

My final project is a simple lunch bag I covered with Designer series paper. I saw Ronda Wade do this on Facebook and thought it would be perfect to give someone with some treats inside. I cut the bag down to 9 inches. Cut a piece of DSP to cover the front, then another piece I same width but left it 12" long so I had a 3" piece to turn down over the top. it really is that simple. I tied a bow with white bakers twine, wrapped it around the top several times and added a tag.
the tag used the Lovely Inside and Out stamp set that is also retiring! RIP! I used a gold binder clips to attach it to the bag.(These are going too!)

I hope you are inspired by at least one of these projects. They were a lot of fun to create. Please be sure to leave a comment and let me know you were here. Keep on hopping- I'm sure you will enjoy each blog and be inspired to get stamping for spring events. Be blessed and be a blessing.

Flying High on Cloud NIne!

Boy, was it a fun 24 hours! Well, really a little more than like 36. Last weekend was Stampin' UP's OnStage events. I attend the one in Atlanta Ga. with 3 of my team. Go Dixie Star Stampers! I also had the privilege of attending Centre Stage for the first time.  It was just awesome. We received all sorts of free product from the new 2018-2019 annual catalog, we heard from the Founder of Stampin' Up Shelli Gardner and her daughter, Sara, who is the current CEO. We were inspired by the amazing changes coming soon and the accomplishments of many of our fellow demonstrators. I even walked the stage for my promotion to Silver Elite! Go CeCe! I was thrilled to have Jewel, Pamela, and Kim there with me.
We enjoyed swapping cards with other demonstrators, make and takes, and being the first to see and have a copy of the new catalog! I love some of the new products. I am sad to see some of our favorites retiring to make way for the new. I'm thrilled some of my old faithfuls are still here. Change is never easy but can be a really good thing. If you were going to change something in your life, what would it be? Besides my waist being smaller and my house being cleaner (a hopeless task) I would share the Stampin' Up opportunity with a lot more people. I love what I do and it's fun! Yes, it is a job and I do work, don't think otherwise, however, creating wonderful cards, memory books and home decor paper crafts is fun. Not to mention all the truly amazing people I have had the privilege of meeting and spending time together. What a blessing!
I have a lot more to share later. Thursday will be the Stampin' Friends Blog Hop so check back! Be blessed and be a blessing!

Headed to Onstage!

I am so excited !!!! I mean really over the top excited!!!! Friday moring I'm headed to Atlanta, Ga for Stampin' Up's Onstage event. It's like a mini convention of sorts. It's tons of fun and I love going, but that's not the exciting part. I have 3 team members going with me!!!! This really brings me joy and I get to attend CentreStage this time for the first time! CentreStage is a special event Stampin' Up does for there Silver Elite and higher demonstrators. I have always wanted to go and finally this year promoted to Silver Elite!!! I know a lot of exclamation marks, but I really want you to feel how excited I am!

One of the fun things demostrators do anytime they get together is trade swaps. Here is my swap for this event.  I used the Lemon Zest stamp set (143808) and Lemon Builder punch (143712). I didn't love this set at first but, I have to say I have had fun coming up with ideas for using it. Of course I always love a bundle (10% discount) with a coordinating punch! It has some great saying!

If you need any of these products my online store is open 24/7! Check it out here. Well, I'm off to pack and make sure I have everything I need. Have a great weekend. Do something that brings you joy and bring joy to those around you. Gotta run! Until next time.

I liked that last card so much I made another one.

Good morning and welcome to Spring! I hope you had a Happy Easter Celebration.  We did with all the family (minus one daughter).

I really like that technique of cutting the Designer Series paper on the angle and separating it to appear to cover the whole front of the card. If you missed it you can see here. I did another one using the Petal Palette suite and I love it. This is one of my favorite suites in the Occasions catalog. I hope and pray it makes it into the annual, but since we don't know that and even if it does it won't be a bundle you might think of getting it now!The bundle (145974 in clear mount) includes the Petal Palette stamp set with 15 stamps and the Petals and more Thinlets Dies with 10 dies. This is a really good deal. Add the awesome Designer Series Paper and you can create a ton of cards and other projects. Notice on this card I colored some of the little flowers in the DSP with the Peakaboo Peach ink. I love being able to add color to my Designer Series Paper and this pack is really made for it.

In this sample I used Peekaboo Peach (141398) as the card base. This is one of the 2016-2018 In Colors that we know will be retiring from the New catalog. If it's one you really love, but sure to order extra and don't forget the re-inker(141403) for your stampin' pad. That's all for today. Hope you have a great day and a great week. Come back often for more creative ideas. Grab some tea and join me for a visit. Love hearing from each of you, so if you like this project please leave me a little comment and let me know. Remember you can shop at my online store anytime 24/7. God bless and go bless someone around you, then you will be truly blessed.

Another DSP idea!

So, I'm on a mission to use my beautiful Designer Series Paper instead of hoarding it. Today's project is a quick look at how to get 9 card layers from one sheet of 12x12 paper.
The Myths and Magic Specialty paper (145600) is awesome. Each piece has a shiny or embossed image on it. I wanted to use it for a set of cards for my grand daughter. By cutting the paper into 4 inch squares, then cutting them on then diagonal I was able to make some cute cards for her set. Here's my sample and how I cut the DSP. Isn't this cute?
It looks like I cut the paper 4" by 5 1/4", but I didn't. I cut the paper in 4" squares. Next, I place them on my paper trimmer with opposite corners over the cutting line and the corners on 1 inch like in this picture. See the top and bottom corners are each on the 1 inch line on each side of the cutting track.
This gives you a piece that can then be layered on
your 4" x 5 1/4" layer on your card front.
Here's a picture of the two pieces on a piece of graph paper to give you an idea of the placement. I used a Whisper White layer so I could stamp my saying in the middle. Then I stamped the mermaid from Magical Day Stamp set (145854) on Whisper White and punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I colored the Mermaid with the Stampin' Blends and layered it on a 2" circle punch of another DSP from Bubbles and Fizz. It coordinated perfectly since Lemon-Lime Twist is in both papers.
I popped the circles on some dimensionals and done! I love cute, quick, and easy!

This is a fun and whimsical bundle to help create really cute projects. I love the coordination of matching paper, stamp set framelits, and even washi tape! The Bundle with the Designer Series Paper will qualify for a Sale-A-Bration items. You can get the Myths and Magic 6 x 6 Glimmer paper to go with it for free. Think of all the cards you can create with just these three products!

Maybe you want a little more than you should purchase at the moment- host a workshop, online party or even better- sign up as a Dixie Stamp stamper before the end of March and you will get your stamping kit, a 125.00 of product, plus two extra free stamp sets of your choice for 99.00 and free shipping. Then you will always be able to purchase great coordinating products with at least a 20% discount. Who wants to pay full price? Or maybe you see the value in this offer and want to earn an income and build a business. It is definitely possible and it's also work, but it's amazing fun at the same time. Check out join the fun! I'm here to help anyway I can. Hope to hear from you soon. God bless and go bless those around you.

Cindy

Stampin' Friends No Rules Blog Hop.

Welcome to the March Stampin' Friends Blog Hop! Thanks for hopping with us today. No rules, no theme, no color combo, no sketch! I don't know what to do! Give me guidelines, give me boundaries!  I have a really hard time deciding what to do when I have no given direction. But, I landed on a concept I have been working on for a while! I have too much paper! (Insert horror face, did she really say that, Gasp). I really do. I love Designer Series Paper and I buy a lot of it. So my plan is to cut it up and use it! I've been making list of all the ways I can use Stampin' Up's awesome double sided and specialty papers.I have just a couple to show you today but more in the works. Here's all the projects I made for today. There are two cards with double layered DSP, 2 matching envelopes, 1 made with the envelope punch board and one lined with DSP, a gift card holder and a wood mount stamp case lined with DSP to hold it all.

I really like this cute Bubble and Fizz paper from the Sale A Bration flyer this year. Here is a close up of the 2 cards I made.
By double layering the DSP I used more than I usual and love the outcome.
For my project, I used the DSP to line Stampin' Up's wood mount cases.
The total dimensions for the liner is 7" x 11 1/4". I cut my DSP 6" x 11 1/4", then added a  coordinating 3/4" strip to the top and bottom. I covered the seam with a strip of washi tape. Added a saying and it's done! The gift card holder is just a piece of  DSP 6" x 5 1/4". Add a belly band and embellish!
Here is a picture of the inside with the cards inside. And I have more to add, but that's for another day! Hope you enjoyed this projects. There were fun to make.  I think this might be a great gift idea for my family members for their birthday's. We have 16 grown niece's and nephew's!

THIS IS IMPORTANT!

Cooperman- My favorite 7 year old!

Good afternoon y'all. Hope this finds you and yours doing well! I think most of us are feeling good finely! It seems everyone was battling something this month. This was a big Birthday month for us! Cooperman, my superman, turned 7. He is a spunky, smart and very energetic little boy. He definitely has his CeCe wrapped around his finger. We made a quick trip to see our daughter, Elizabeth, in North Carolina for her birthday the middle of the month and our 11 year old grandson Stephen had his birthday last week! Phew! I've been making birthday cards, not to mention Valentine stuff! Here is Cooperman's awesome card!

Image may contain: 4 people, people smiling, childThis is the outside view. the Designer Series Paper layer is on the outside of the envelope. The bottom of the card is embossed with the brick embossing folder. It's a box card. I love these. This one uses the very popular Magical Day Stamp set (145854) and Myths and Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper (145600).

Here is a closer view of the little knight. Isn't he the cutest thing ever!
Cooperman loved it! Of course he really loved the sweet little 2x2 inch acetate box that accompanied the card with the 7 dollars, 7 quarters, 7 dimes, 7 nickels and 7 pennies!
That's all I have for now. I'm late getting this out. Tomorrow is March 1st. Spring is really here already!  I hope you have a blessed day and have the opportunity to bless those around you. See ya later.
Love stamping in Dixie,
Cindy
