Dog Days of Summer

Hi y'all . I hope everyone is doing fine. I am amazed at how beautiful the weather has been this August. Here in Dixie August is usually a really miserable month. Hot, Humid, Hot, Humid, did I say HOT? Well, this August has been very pleasant, almost fall-like which is just weird for us. We normally swim in our pool a lot in August. The water has actually been a little chilly this month! Well, all that to say I am getting in the mood for fall. School has started already and I'm ready for the next season to follow. Actually it's only like a 120 days til Christmas! Let me get back to the next holiday. Halloween is not one of those days we really get all excited about. However, with grandbabies running around and fall Festivals getting ready to abound I included a couple of Halloween cards in this months Stamp a Stack. I hope you like them. I think they are really cute! The base of this cards is Whisper White cardstock. The next layer is Only Orange cardstock that was crumbled, then straightened and ink to paper technique done with basic black ink. The spider is made with the scallop punch and the photo corners punch using black and lovely lavender cardstock. The sentiment Happy Halloween is from Tiny Teeny Wishes, a great set to have. It is punched with the window punch and layered on the modern label punch. This is really a quick and simple card.

Congratulations Karen

My friend Karen has a very funny and thought-provoking blog. It's called My Points in Time. She is a very gifted writer and I encouraged her to start writing a blog. Well, this week she made her 100th post! She has not had this blog for very long, so I am very impressed. If you need a good laugh or something to ponder check out Karen's blog. You'll be glad you did. I, on the other hand, am not so prolific. But I am on my way to 100. So stay in touch and keep coming back. I'll have to offer blog candy for my 100th posting! The card I want to share with yall today is from July's Stamp-a- Stack and in honor or Karen's pink, I give you Enjoy Life in Pink! The Enjoy Life stamp set has proved to be very versatile in card making and scrapbooking.

Cardstock is Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White, DSP Razzleberry Lemonade

Ink is black classic ink and the ribbon is Melon Mambo polka-dotted. I also used the circle punches for this card, 1" and 1 1/4".

Hope you enjoyed this card. Please leave me a comment with your thoughts- good or bad and most importantly go be a blessing to someone in your life today.

Yikes! I dropped the ball.

I can't believe I haven't even looked at my blog for 2 weeks. I was in Salt Lake City for a few days for the Stampin' Up Convention! which by the way was a blast. However, that is no excuse for getting so far behind. I have a ton of things to share with yall. I also received a special gift from my daughter, Lee. Before I left for SLC she gave me a new camera! It was really sweet and thoughtful. It's a Sony Cybershot. I have no idea how to use it aside from the point and click technique! So, I have lots of pictures on the camera to share that I haven't managed to download to the computer yet. No more excuses.
Here is a card we made last month at my Stamp a Stack event.

Stamp set: This is one of the Level 1 hostess sets in the current cattie, Cute as a Bug

cardstock: Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry, DSP Razzleberry Lemonade and White
ink: Chocolate Chip and Dusty Durango and markers to color in the bug
accessories: Modern label punch, window punch , brads and soft suede polka dot ribbon.
Thank you for looking, please come back. I'll try to get better about posting more consistently. Be blessed and bless someone else today.

I know, I know

I apologize for the sweet followers who have returned here to see the directions for the Sweet Treats I posted during the amazing blog tour. It was a blast and I hope you riders had as much fun as I did participating. I am getting ready to go to Salt Lake City for the Stampin' Up! Convention. This will be my first convention and I am so excited. A lot to get done. So, if yall will give me a break, I promise to get the directions posted as soon as I can. In the meantime, here is a card I absolutely love! I hope you like it too. Karen, think of this with Crimson or that pink color you like so much!
This card is made using the Movers and Shapers die for the Big Shot. Also the front of the card was embossed with the Big Shot texture plate Harlequin.
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White and Bashful Blue.
Ink: Bashful Blue and black classic ink.
Stamp sets: Baroque Motif and Lovely Letters
Embellishments: the curly label punch and white organza ribbon
A set of these would make a great gift. Do you know how soon Christmas will be here. Better start gettin' ready! Now, thanks for your time and be blessed, but more importantly be a blessing to someone else.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I can't say Thank You enough for all who were involved with the blog tour. It was a great learning experience for me. Thank you Lucia for all your wisdom, to Jan for your encouragement right from the start and Stephanie for your computer skills of which I have almost none. But, most of all, thank you to all the riders who left such encouraging and thoughtful comments. It really made my day to sit and read your opinions, it was a great confidence booster for me.
Now, on to what you are waiting for..(drum roll) the winner of my blog candy, the stamp set Sweet Little Sentiments is T. Blue! I will be sending you an email shortly to arrange shipment of your stamp set. Thank you for taking this tour with all us at LNS.
Now, how about one more sample using Teeny Tiny Wishes. These cards were suppose to be on the tour, but I deleted them somehow and was afraid if I tried to put them back I'd mess up something else. The theme of this set was baby stuff. A thank you note, a shower card and a Hello baby card make up this trio. They are done with the Bermuda Bay, Melon Mamba, and Crushed Curry "In Colors" for 2009-2010. These colors are so intense they really look great on white. Pick a Petal is the other stamp set I used in creating these cards. If you don't have it add it to your wish list. It is a versatile set. Also don't forget the polka dotted ribbon. It's a great finishing touch to our cards.
