Have you ever thought "I need help" again?

Do you ever feel this way?  I'm in a pinch, too much to get done and ever enough time. I shared a meme in my Facebook group, " No one has more false hope than a crafter who thinks "This will only take 5 minutes"!  That is so true. I'm working on tips and tutorials to help make your crafting experience quicker if you are in a fix! This is one of the reasons I include cardstock measurements and a list of products in my blog post. My card idea can offer a good place to start saving time. Whether you CASE it outright or change it up, having a starting point will be helpful. Another way to save time is by having a favorite template or card sketch to follow. I have a Pinterest board of card sketches and color combos you can follow. There are tons of them on PINTEREST! Some offer just sketches and some offer layouts with measurements, both are useful when creating a card quickly. Also on this board are color combos. This is another useful tip for quick cards, but also for sparking your creative genius. Start with a color combination and create a card using those colors. One of my favorites is Black and White with a pop of color, this can be really fun with a pop of Melon Mambo or Daffodil Delight. It can look more masculine with a pop of Real Red!

My last tip for this blog post is  Paper Pumpkin! Paper Pumpkin is a great tool for having cards on hand or those that can be made in a flash if you need one right now! March's Paper Pumpkin is available now until March 1oth. You can try it for a month or sign up for a subscription, either way, I think you will love it. Gotta run. Have a blessed day. Stay warm. Be a blessing to those around you!

It's a Birthday Weekend for us!

Good morning friends. I hope you are all doing well. We are running around like chickens. It has been a crazy busy week for some reason and I am looking forward to the weekend. We are going away with friends for the first time in what seems like forever!!!! We are celebrating several birthdays. Our friend Huff turned 80 this week. On my goodness! 80! Our grandson, Cooperman, is 10 today and is very upset with me that I am leaving town on his birthday. We will also be celebrating Kay's birthday on Friday and our daughter Elizabeth, affectionately know as Lee-Lee, will be home to celebrate her 31st birthday with us also. We were supposed to be cruising around the Caribbean this week. So needless to say I have been working on birthday cards. You will definitely be seeing those babies soon. Today I want to show you a card I made with one of my hostess clubs this month using the  Art Gallery bundle with Golden Garden Specialty Designer series paper and Fine Art Floral Designer series paper. these papers are unbelievably gorgeous.

Isn't this card beautiful? Truly the Designer Series Paper is the star of this show. The  Golden Garden Specialty Designer Acetate coordinates so well you can literally place the 2 pieces of 12 x 12  together, line them up, and cut. I love these simple cards with WOW factor. I actually filmed a youtube video showing how to use this DSP and instructions for making this card. You can see it here. Hopefully, before long I will know how to add it here to this page.

I think that's going to be it for today. I have so much left to do before we leave. I still have Valentine's cards to finish!!!

Hope to see you next week. Thanks for stopping by. I would really appreciate a comment or two, just to let me know you were here and what you think. Also, give me ideas on what you'd like to see or learn. Thanks. Have a great weekend. Happy President's Day on Monday. We really need to bathe our elected officials in prayer and support them to the best of our ability even when we don't agree with them or even like them! Be Blessed and go be a blessing to those around you.

Love, Cindy

Outside the Paper Pumpkin Box!

Hello, Y'all! Hope everyone is good. We are fine but extremely busy for some reason. Today I want to talk a little about Paper Pumpkin.  If you have been following me at all for any time you will have a clue what I'm talking about. So newbie's this is for you! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription from Stampin Up! It's really like a little crafting afternoon in a box ( a pretty little box). Each month you receive a box with all the supplies you need to create preplanned projects. You can find out ahead of time just what kind of projects, like cards, home decor, seasonal treat wrappers, that sort of thing, and we usually get a little sneak peek at the design concept. but that's all. It is a surprise. It is a great way to collect a small number of supplies, spend a controlled amount of money, and enjoy creating some beautiful projects. You can try paper pumpkin with a 1-month, 3 months, 6 months purchase or you can purchase 12 months at a time. (I'll tell you the advantage to that in a minute.) You can also subscribe and just pay monthly, no contract, cancel anytime and it's very easy to do.

I shared in my Facebook group[ Stamping in Dixie Girls, some projects I have created with the Paper Pumpkin box, but using the supplies in a different way than instructed. I think this is one of the most fun exercises I do. Take the pieces and parts and create my own card. I usually scour Pinterest to see what other crafters have done and often use their cards as inspiration for mine. The card I want to show you today is one of those cards. I have done this many times-use the envelope as a part of the project. The envelopes are often beautiful and make great layers. Also, you can make more cards if you sacrifice a card and/or an envelope. To make this card I cut one of the envelopes down on both sides to make it 5.5 x 4.25 inches. I stamped on the front piece of the Poppy Parade envelope with Poppy parade ink. The mailbox is a printed layer from the kit. I stamped the Poppy Parade small hearts and flowers on this layer also. Then stamped the cute little snail from the stamp set that accompanies the kit along with the sentiment on a pre-cut label. I colored the snail with Poppy Parade and Petal Pink Blends and added a tiny knot using the Black ribbon in the kit. Here is a picture of the back of the card. I used Stampin seal to attach the envelope flap to a piece of 5.5 x 4.25  thick white cardstock creating an extra card.

With the back flap of the envelope, I cut heart layers using the scallop heart punch from the heart punch pack. These were used on other samples.
Finally, here is a picture of the inside of the card. The inside was stamped again with the small confetti hearts and the XOXO stamp that comes in the Paper Pumpkin kit. This is a great benefit of the Paper Pumpkin -you receive each month a small stamp set, coordinating ink spot, and always extra materials to use on other projects. Here is a link to sign up for the monthly subscription.

The secret I wanted to share is if you purchase a 12-month prepaid subscription to Paper Pumpkin the cost is 220. oo.  You buy 11 and get 1 free. However, by doing that in February you also get to take advantage of  Saleabration. You will get to choose (4) 50.00 Saleabration items or the (2 )100.00 Saleabration items or a combination and you will receive 22.00 in free product as the hostess of your own workshop. Have a friend or family member join you and your free product amount goes up!

Well, thank you for stopping by. I always enjoy sharing Stampin' Up with other crafters. I hope you have enjoyed this card and will look at your supplies outside the box.  I will link the extra supplies I used for this card below. See you next time. Be blessed and be a blessing.  Love, Cindy

Understanding my obsession with the Sand and Sea Suite!

Hey y'all!  Happy Thursday, I hope you are well, warm, and dry! I am great here at Stamping in Dixie! It is a rather cold day for Alabama, but the sun is shining. My next favorite place to be, besides a cruise ship, is probably the beach! My parents took us to the beach often, my St. Tommy lived 27 years blocks from the bay in PC, Fl. We met at the University of West Fla in P'cola and had many dates at the beach! So, this may help you understand my obsession with the Sand and Sea suite in the J-J 2021 Mini Catalog ( it's on page 40, just in case you are living under a rock). The Bundle (Stamp set and dies), the embossing folder, the Opal rounds, and Pearlescent Specialty paper are all amazing. I know I have already shared a couple of cards, but I have more! I really can't get enough of this suite.

What do you think about this card?  I made this using a technique called Black Ice. I took a piece of silver foil cardstock, streaked it with a Jet Black Stazon ink pad, and then stamped the shell images also with black Stazon. After giving it time to dry, I ran my Versamark pad over the whole surface very lightly and added clear embossing powder to the whole card layer. Next, using the heat gun I embossed the foil layer. After it cooled briefly, I cut this piece out using the large die and the CandE M. Finally, I ran it back through the CandE M with the 3-D embossing folder. It looks amazing!  It is layered on a card base of Basic Black with a 4 x 5.25 layer of Sahara Sand. There is a piece of mesh ribbon wrapped across the front and adhered to the back of the Sahara Sand layer. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Pearlescent paper and punched out with the new Double Oval Punch. It is adhered with Stampin' Dimensional. Finally, I placed some star embellishments around the card to add a little bling! Again, inside says, "Love you to the beach and back," I think this will be one of my favorite cards for a long time.

The second sample, we made in my hostess club this week. The background is Shimmery White sponged with Crumb cake, Pretty Peacock, Just Jade, and Pool Party ink using the new blender brushes. The die layer is Vellum, cut with the large shell die and embossed with the 3-D embossing folder. The vellum was lightly sponged to give the embossed image some definition. The Sandollar and Starfish images were stamped then die cut. There is an 8-inch piece of Just Jade 1/4" ribbon looped behind the sand dollar with a glue dot. Also, a 6-inch piece of gold Trim from the Forever Greenery combo pack in the annual catalog was added to the back of the sand dollar. The starfish were adhered with glue dots onto the card front, and the Sandollar with the ribbon behind it was popped up on dimensionals. Finally, the Happy Birthday was stamped on a 1/2 inch of white cardstock and punched using the lovely layer pick a  punch, then layered on a 3/4 inch piece of  Pretty Peacock. Who wouldn't want to get this card for their birthday? I will add a list of all the products under this post. I hope you are enjoying these cards as much as I am. If you have a question or need some help give me a shout out. I'm here to help with all your paper crafting needs. Have a great weekend. I'll be back next week with more ideas and inspiration! Be Blessed and be a blessing to those around you. Love, Cindy

Month number 2!

The first one done, the month that is. are you ready for #2? It almost seems like we are just counting things these days! How many days, months, years until... how many people can you see, visit, hug? Tommy and I are counting how many cruises we have had planned and canceled. We are waiting for number 6! It's scheduled in May for Alaska. I really want to go. Today I'm counting birthday cards I need to make. I forgot how many events I need to prepare for in February! I have a grandson and daughter with birthdays this month, a  good friend turning 80!!! Also, one of my closest friends birthday is at the end of the month, not to mention Valentine's Day. I realize this is not the " normal" definition of Valentine's Day, but I'm rarely considered normal!

Here's a sample of a card I made for a tutorial coop I am part of this year. I'm using the stamp set Ridiculously Awesome, which is the inspiration of Ronda Wade for her Millon Dollar achievers Stamp set. Inside it has stamped PS I love you!
